UNICEF Field AMA
About this Event

The UNICEF Field AMA is your portal to UNICEF across the globe. Learn what it's like to be out on the field with UNICEF, administering lifesaving services to children, from your own homes!

Join us as we talk to Josephine Steenbergen, the Southeast's newest youth rep, about her experience in Northern Cambodia with UNICEF.

Josephine Steenbergen is a rising sophomore at Emory University in Atlanta. Originally from the Netherlands, Josephine has lived in Slovakia, Hong Kong and New York.

She has worked closely with UNICEF for the past couple of years, such as packing boxes for Syrian refugees and going on a field visit to Cambodia to look at maternal and neonatal healthcare, especially in terms of Tetanus vaccines.

In Cambodia, she witnessed how difficult it is to transport medical supplies and vaccines through the cold chain, watched health literacy lessons given to mothers, visited local clinics, and tested salt for iodine content.

Josephine is excited to share with you stories from the field, and answer your questionsabout what its like to join UNICEF in the field, what goes into administering vaccines to Cambodia's rural villages, and anything else!

This event is free to join, and you will be sent an email with a Zoom link after registration!
