Stickers for UNICEF
About this Event

All children deserve to lead a safe and healthy life. Buy a sticker or make a donation today to send critical supplies, medicine, and food to children in Lebanon who need your help. All profits go towards the Lebanon Emergency Relief program by UNICEF.

There are few issues in the world that are as important and solvable as saving the world’s children. Every year, 6.9 million children worldwide — nearly 19,000 children per day — die before their fifth birthday from preventable causes. For almost 70 years, UNICEF has been the world’s leader for children, overcoming obstacles like politics, ideology and poverty to ensure that children can survive. UNICEF has saved more children’s lives than any other humanitarian organization in the world because it is able to tackle the real issues that affect why children are dying in the first place. Today, UNICEF is active in more than 190 countries and territories.

In Lebanon, the situation is extreme. The explosion in the Port of Beiruit in August displaced 300,000 people, including 100,000 children, a disaster on top of the economic crisis, large refugee population, and COVID-19 lockdowns. Lebanon is the country that houses the greatest number of refugees per capita in the world, with 1.5 million Syrian refugees and 200,000 others. Before COVID-19 struck, a third of this refugee population was below the poverty line and the unemployment rate was 25%. The economic crisis and COVID-19 lockdowns have caused food prices to rise, which has led to food insecurity throughout the nation. UNICEF estimated $46.8 million dollars needed to support families and children in the aftermath of the explosion and in the midst of this crisis. As the University High School UNICEF Club, we are committed to fundraising and supporting UNICEF"s work and causes. We've printed vinyl stickers that come in three different designs - the "UHS UNICEF 2020" design, the "For Every Child Can" design, and the "Treaty Yo Self Boba" design. These stickers are water-resistant and are perfect to place on a water bottle, laptop, phone case, and more. You can also donate directly to the cause. All profits will go to UNICEF's Lebanon Emergency Relief program to support the children whose story you just read.
