The UNICEF Unite chapters at Drexel University and the University of Pennsylvania are hosting a panel discussion aimed at raising awareness about children's access to clean and safe water and what the international community can do to ensure children worldwide have this basic need met. The event will take place on October 26th, from 6:30 pm EST to 7:30 pm. All funds raised from tickets will go directly to UNICEF’s Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) projects.
Dr. Joseph Amon, Clinical Professor and Director of the Office of Global Health at Drexel University, will discuss access to clean and safe water from a public health and public policy perspective.
Andrew Kricun, Senior Advisor to the Penn Water Center and Managing Director with Moonshot Missions, a nonprofit providing assistance to water utilities in underserved communities, will offer an engineering perspective relevant to WASH programs in developing countries.
Dr. Joel Oestreich, professor of Politics and Global Studies at Drexel University with a specialization in International Relations, will discuss UNICEF’s on-the-ground efforts and what a rights-based approach to Water and Sanitation looks like. His primary areas of research include international organizations, international finance, development, and human rights.
To join the event, there is a minimum donation of $3. All funds raised from tickets will go directly to UNICEF’s Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) projects.
