Friends Against Famine: A Classical Concert
About this Event

Featuring young musicians from across Orange County, Friends Against Famine is a virtual classical concert in support of UNICEF's work in Yemen. Yemen is the poorest country in the Middle East, and twenty-four million of its thirty million citizens are in need of humanitarian aid. The United Nations has declared the Yemen emergency to be the world's worst humanitarian crisis. Five years of severe conflict has only been worsened by starvation, economic decline, and cholera. Now, with the novel coronavirus spreading across the country, a famine will likely be declared by December.

UNICEF works to combat this crisis by providing food, medical supplies, shelter, and clean water. In response to the pandemic, the charity has distributed tens of thousands of tests, N95 respirators, face shields, and gowns while training thirty thousand health workers. One hundred percent of ticket sales for Friends Against Famine will fund this work, and every one hundred dollars raised saves a child's life. We thank you for your generosity. Every donation, no matter the size, makes the world a better place.
