As the COVID-19 pandemic reaches its one-year mark, vaccination efforts have accelerated across states, reaching over 192 million Americans. The administration of vaccinations marks a new phase in the global pandemic and presents new challenges such as vaccine misinformation, hesitancy, and inequitable access.

 

UNICEF and Latter-day Saint Charities, as key players in global health and the COVID-19 vaccination efforts, will host a webinar and open discussion on emerging questions surrounding vaccine safety, research and development, partnerships, and the worsening situation in India.

Janice Ly -- A clinical researcher of two COVID-19 vaccines and Captain of UNICEF Unite - Salt Lake City, loves working on service projects to bring people together for a common cause. As an Asian American child of refugees, she is dedicated to education and advocacy for expanding opportunities for children to reach their full potential. In her free time, she likes to travel, ski, and explore nature. 

 

Jacqueline Lovell-Lantz -- A Manager of Strategic Relationships and Area Support with Latter-day Saint Charities and had been with LDSC for nearly three years. Prior to her current role, she worked extensively with the Church’s JustServe platform, and also in a counseling management and administration role with Deseret Industries’ return-to-work programming, which, like LDSC, is also sponsored by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Jacqueline has a Master’s degree in social work from the University of Michigan. She is married, has two sons, and loves cycling, gardening, cooking, and listening to podcasts.

 

Nabanita De -- a Security Software Engineer at Uber and is passionate about solving world challenges though tech and entrepreneurship. Her work has been recognized on Business Insider, Washington Post, Mashable, Huffington Post, BBC News, NDTV, Fortune, Wired Magazine and over 90% of news publications worldwide and she was also invited to Forbes Under 30 by the Forbes Team. She has won several awards from Facebook, Google, Microsoft, Uber, Harvard, MIT and Qualcomm. Currently reigning Miss India Emerald City Washington, Nabanita has created several platforms in areas of women empowerment (www.returnships.org), Covid help in India(https://www.covidhelpforindia.com/), debunking Misinformation (https://projectfib.azurewebsites.net/) and many more (www.nabanitade.com).
