Background on Humanitarian Action for Children (HAC)
Since 1946, UNICEF’s humanitarian programs have provided millions of children in conflict and other emergencies with a range of life-saving services.
In order to fund these efforts, each year UNICEF develops Humanitarian Action for Children (HAC) appeals which are assessments based on the expected environmental and conflict-related risks in emergency prone countries.
In December 2019, UNICEF released the 2020 HAC appeals. In an unprecedented move, UNICEF has appealed for $4.2 billion to reach 59 million children across 64 countries. This figure represents the highest appeal that UNICEF has ever issued. Thank you in advance for helping UNICEF support every child.
